Credit cards
My credit card company is definitely serious about credit card fraud. If anything unusual happens, they call me immediately or stop all charges on my credit card (until I can verify that all is alright). I just bought a computer this morning and within two hours, they gave me a call to verify the charge. Once I traveled out of the city in which we lived and used our card without telling them about my travel plans. They put a stop on all charges on my card until I could call them to verify things.
Their customer service, well, that is not so good. If I do have a problem on either the weekend or after business hours (and this is more typical than I had expected), I get a serious workout on their telephone lines. I get shuffled from one electronic message to another for what seems like hours (but is probably only about 0.75 to 1.5 hours really).
I am definitely impressed with their seriousness regarding fraud. They also have a very reasonable rate (9.90 % for as long as I have had this card). If they could just improve customer service, then I would likely never leave this credit card company.
(If you want to know the name, send me an email. I don't want to put it up on the internet for fear of identity theft.)

Okay, I'm curious: how would knowing the credit card company that you use help someone commit identity theft? I mean, aren't there only about three major credit card companies?

That's interesting. I've never been called by any of my credit card companies and I've always wondered why. Are you somehow more predictable than I am?

Shaela, it could be that they don't think I'm responsible enough to keep track of my credit cards.
