My friend Kitty and I took a break from our conference and headed into Amsterdam for a day of "just chillin'".  We discovered that on a low budget (e.g., a graduate student budget) you can get fairly good food.  We had lunch in what was the equivalent of a Subways in the States- a soup and sandwich shop.
